L. Michael Emenaker, 67, a lifetime Marshall County resident, passed away at his home of natural causes on the morning of Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Born in Plymouth, Indiana, on July 26, 1950, Mike was the son of Louis J. and Lucille T. (Veclotch) Emenaker.
Mike graduated from Plymouth High School in 1968 where he was involved in the FFA Program. He then graduated from Purdue University in 1975 with an Agriculture Degree in Teaching.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on May 13, 1971 after serving in combat.
On August 12, 1972 in St. Michael Catholic Church, he was united in holy matrimony with Debra Ann Hartman.
Mike was an Ag teacher with Argos for 10 years, he then worked at Farm Bureau Co-op in Plymouth for 8 years. He returned to teaching and retired after 18 years with Triton High School.
All the while Mike remained a farmer. He loved time spent just tinkering, making repairs and his frequent tours of the property accompanied by his dog on the Toro Twister. He has enjoyed assisting on the Foster Davenport family farms for many years. Fishing was another pastime that he enjoyed especially up north in Minong, Wisconsin.
He and his wife Debbie enjoyed gardening together and spending time with their four grandchildren.
Mike was a member of the American Legion Post in Argos, the Knights of Columbus and volunteered with the Marshall County 4H Program.
His family includes his wife Debbie, children and grandchildren: Lora A. (David) Horvath of Rochester and children Ainsley and Everett, Andrew M. (Shannon) Emenaker of Argos and children Cameron and McKenna and daughter Jennifer L. (Tyler) Hensley of Tippecanoe. Siblings include: Susan (Herb) Lechlitner of Lakeville, Joyce (Brian) Klingerman of Bremen and George (Linda) Emenaker of Plymouth with several nieces and nephews. Mike’s mother-in-law Tyrus Hartman of Plymouth also survives.

Family and friends will gather at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan Street, Plymouth on Tuesday, November 21st from 4 – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home with life celebrant Jim Smart officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, with Military Honors.
