While some funeral homes simply promote the owners and the fact that they are locally owned, we acknowledge that the level of service that is provided by our funeral home could not be achieved if it were not for the efforts of our dedicated staff.

Randall L. Danielson

       Randy is a Plymouth native. A 1972 PHS graduate and an Alumni of Ancilla College. In October of 1973 he began working for Francis and Martha Johnson and attained his degree from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in the fall of 1977.

       He and his wife Eleanor have three children; Olivia, Renee and Mark.  Together they purchased the funeral home in 1995. Members of St. Michael’s Church, Plymouth; Randy is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and currently serves on the Boards of Garden Court and Marshall County Council on Aging. Eleanor who assists in the daily management of the funeral home, is also an accredited Registered Dietician and is currently serving on the board of Garden Court and Ancilla College.

     Don Wilson

Donald K. Wilson

       Don was raised on a small farm near Fowler, Indiana. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1967, Porter Business College in Indianapolis, in 1968, and Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1975.

       On January 1, 1978, Don started working as a full time E.M.T. for the Plymouth Community Ambulance Service. 

       Don began working at Johnson Funeral Home on September 15,1986, while still an E.M.T.  He retired from the Ambulance Service and started working exclusively at the funeral home in 1994.  Included in his duties at the funeral home, Don assures the filing of Veteran's benefits and he also assists families wishing to purchase granite and bronze cemetery markers and monuments.

       Don is married to the former Marsha Ellinger, and they have four children: Ken, Duane, Michelle and Chris.  They are members of the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth and Don is an active member of the Plymouth Optimist Club.   

Kevin L. Russell

       Kevin was born in September of 1974 in Winamac, Indiana. He is a 1993 graduate of Winamac Community High School. He attended and graduated from Ball State University in 1997. After completion of his bachelor’s degree he attended and graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service at Jeffersonville, Indiana in 1998 and served his internship with Garr Funeral Service, Sellersburg, Indiana and served as a funeral director there for four years.

       He became of member of the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home staff in April of 2002. Kevin is a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He also holds membership in the Plymouth Moose Lodge, Plymouth American Legion and the Plymouth Elks Lodge.

Jeanne M. Glaub-Boomershine (Retired)

      Jeanne is a lifetime resident of Plymouth. She is married to Don E. Boomershine and is a mother of two sons, Craig A. Powell of Denver Colorado and Matthew J. Powell of Indianapolis. She is a graduate of Bethel College. As a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, she is active in the bereavement committee there as well as the Monday night rosary group. Jeanne is also an associate to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. Being an active member of Plymouth Rotary is another commitment which she enjoys.

      Jeanne had been a dedicated employee since February of 2000. She has played an important role for our funeral home and community by assisting many individuals through their grief and beyond. She will be missed as we wish her a retirement filled with joy and good health.

Norva E. Shidler

       A Marshall County resident since 1998, Norva was born in South Bend, Indiana. She is a 1967 graduate of Central High School and later attended Davenport College.

       I n 1994 Norva, who is licensed in Real Estate Sales found this interest led her to cemetery sales and funeral service. Seeing the personal impact that assisting others had on her, she then obtained her Indiana State Insurance license in order to write pre-need funeral insurance in St. Joseph County and assist those who simply wished to record decisions for their own funeral service.

       From 2000-2003 she served as the manager of Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. She then returned to advance funeral planning at an Osceola funeral home until which time she joined the Johnson-Danielson staff as a preplanning consultant.

       Norva is married to Brian Shidler and together have a blended family of seven children and eighteen grandchildren. They are members of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and reside in the Culver area.

Roberta Norris

      Roberta grew up in Marshall County, she attended Laville Jr./Sr. High School until 1999 and then graduated from Triton High School in 2001.  In 2003 she completed her degree from Mid-America College of Funeral Service, and in 2006 she successfully fulfilled the requirements to become a licensed Funeral Director.

       She began working at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in December 2004.  She completed training at Insight Institute to become a Funeral Celebrant.

       She is married to Deane Norris, together they reside in Argos and have two children; Kaily Jo and Boden.

   

  


Ida Chipman

       Ida is recognized as a state and national award wining journalist. She has been writing obituaries exclusively for the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home over the past ten years.
       She stated, “In writing an obituary, I try to focus on the person’s life and achievements, hoping to provide a little comfort and sometimes… a touch of humor for the family following a person’s death.”
       A native of Norfolk, Va., Ida attended Queens College in Charlotte, N.C., and the University of Maryland, College Park, Md., where she majored in Journalism. She is the wife of attorney and retired Appellate and Marshall County Judge Eugene N. Chipman. The couple have four children and eleven grandchildren. Ida has been a full-time correspondent for the Marshall County Community Section of the South Bend Tribune for the past 11 years and has stories published in 27 newspapers and several magazines and trade journals.
