
Alvin Hunter, 80, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022 at home with his family.
He was born on July 26, 1942 to Fred and Irene Hunter in Rochester, IN. Alvin graduated from Plymouth High School in 1960. He served in the US Navy from 1960-1963 on the USS Norfolk as an Electronics Technician. His ship was involved in the Cuban Conflict. After the Navy, Al started his career with Frieden Business Machines in 1964 and continued with TRW in 1998. He retired from the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Technology Dept., in 2012.
Alvin married the love of his life, Mary Beth Parsons on November 25, 1967. They had three children, Angie Stevens, (Darren) Alvin Neil Hunter, (Keshena), and Matthew Hunter, (Andraea). He has eight grandchildren, Sam Stevens, Hunter Wilkinson, (Jonathan), Makenna Sanders, (Dalton), Gabby Hunter, John Hunter, Erin Hunter, Adam Hunter, and Sara Hunter and one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Ringer Stevens.
He loved spending time with family and friends. Alvin spent 35 years helping his wife and family with the Plymouth Tennis Program including giving lessons. Since retirement Alvin also volunteered at church and the Bread of Life Food Pantry.
He is preceded in death by both parents, half-brother Lee Huff and brother, Dean Hunter.
A memorial celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 2 pm at the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, 11203 Michigan Rd. Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Ed Friberg officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Bread of Life Food Pantry, 6770 N Michigan St, Plymouth, IN 46563 or to the Plymouth Wesleyan Church.
