Annavieve R. Harman

Annavieve R. “Ann” Harman, 78, passed away Friday evening in Indiana University – Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis after enduring two months of complications from surgery.

Ann was born the daughter of John C. and Vicie L. (Hughes) Talbutt on March 4, 1939 in Buffalo, Indiana. She graduated with the 1957 Class of Buffalo High School where she was a cheerleader. In life, Ann remained a cheerleader and a listening ear for her family and their friends. She moved to Plymouth over 50 years ago and since 1984 has resided at 1164 Ferndale Avenue.

She had been employed with Rabb Soft Water and then a longtime employee of Hayden and Dottie Patz at Plymouth Dairy. Ann was the owner of the Persnickety Shoppe in Plymouth and greatly enjoyed being a lunchroom aide at Jefferson Elementary School. Ann had been a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed league bowling, Twins Club, playing Bunko and camping with the family.

Her family became secure and loved on June 23, 1973 when she became the bride of Herbert E. “Herb” Harman. For the next 41 years they created a home sometimes filled with teenagers, then spouses and grandchildren including 24 great-grandchildren.

Ann’s four children all of Plymouth and their families survive. They are: Sallie A. (Mark) Crawford and children; Nathan, Adam, Stefanie and Allyson, Samuel A. (Sherri) Maxwell and children; Scott, Ashley, Brittany, Megan and Blake, Shellie A. Duell and children; Joslyn, Jessica, Janna and Jon, Sherrie A. (Richard) McMichael and their daughter Macie.

Preceding in death were her parents, spouse Herb, granddaughters; Shannon Crawford and Jami Duell and siblings Liberty, Kate, Martha and William.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 30th at 11 a.m. led by Life Celebrant Jim Smart.

Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
