Anthony Stephen Guyse, 32, died Sunday, September 14, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana. He was the firstborn son to Stephen and Lisa (Huber) Guyse. Anthony graduated from Laville High School in 2011 and was employed by Abtrex Industries.
When you think of Anthony, you at once think of his big heart. He was always quick to jump in and lend a hand, whether somebody was working on a vehicle, needed help moving something, needed a ride, etc. You knew you could depend on him. To say he had a soft spot for stray animals would be an understatement, and he had that same soft spot for friends who needed a couch to sleep on. He was always taking in a critter or a friend. He once brought home this huge turtle balanced on his bicycle handlebars that he and his brother had found in the woods. Mom quickly said to return it!
If Anthony could have lived out in the woods, he would have. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors. If you couldn’t find Anthony, you’d head to the lake or the woods! Most importantly, Anthony was a dad to two of the most amazing girls. He loved them with his whole heart and would do anything for them. They were his everything! He taught them to hunt and fish and look for mushrooms right alongside of him. Some of their favorite things to do together was fishing and swimming at Potato Creek State Park, having friends over for bon fires on the weekends, camping at France Park and going to the racetrack in Plymouth.
Anthony is survived by his two daughters, Peyton and Riley Guyse of Plymouth, parents Steve and Lisa (Huber) Guyse of Lakeville, his Maternal Grandfather Raymond L Huber of Monterey, his Uncle Raymond W. Huber of Monterey, his Aunt & Uncle Carrie (Huber) & Scott Strycker of Independence, Kansas, Uncle Steve Harness of Grovertown, Aunt and Uncle Lori (Guyse) & Steve Hollett of Plymouth, and Uncle John Guyse of Plymouth, along with many cousins. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Melissa James and best friends, James Garcia III, Katrina Watson, Kyle Zartman, Matt Eggert and Allen Rowe just to name a few.
Anthony was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Audrey and Eugene Guyse of Plymouth and Maternal grandmother, Jeanne Huber of Monterey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, and the funds will be deposited into an account that’s been opened at Everwise Credit Union in Plymouth for his two daughters.
