Anthony Joseph Koziel, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully at his home on October 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 1, 1947, in Chicago, Tony was the son of Anthony J. Koziel, Sr. and Stephanie (Narel) Koziel.

Raised on the south side of Chicago, Tony attended Five Holy Martyrs Church and Kelly High School. He married Antoinette Bondi, and together they welcomed three children, Michael, Renee, and Christopher. Although their marriage eventually ended, they maintained a lifelong friendship and a lasting bond through their family.

Some of Tony's most treasured memories were made during family vacations, camping beneath the stars in places like Boulder, CO and Tennessee. Those adventures were filled with laughter and memories that would become cherished family stories for years to come. Tony also made many memories through the years with his “lady-friend” and companion in life, Carol.

Above all else, family was the heart of Tony's life. He took great pride in his children and found tremendous joy in watching his family grow. Affectionately known as "Grandpa" to his grandchildren and "Papa 2" to his great-grandchildren, Tony treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives. He was a constant and dependable presence, never missing a birthday celebration or an opportunity to cheer them on at the activities and events that they were involved in. Through life's biggest milestones and simplest moments, Tony made sure his family knew how deeply they were loved.

Tony had a wonderful sense of humor and a special gift for bringing laughter into everyday moments. Known for his infamous "dad jokes," he could always be counted on for a quick remark that brought smiles and a few playful eye rolls. Even in his final days, that familiar humor remained, giving his family precious moments of laughter they will forever hold close.

Tony dedicated his career to working as a fleet coordinator with Swift-Eckrich. Outside of work, he enjoyed keeping busy with projects around the house, visiting his favorite casino, and playing poker online. He was also a member of the Plymouth Moose Lodge #741.

Tony will be dearly missed by his children, Christopher Koziel and Renee (Jason) Mauck; grandchildren, Kellie (Toya) Mahone and Ashley Brinnehl; great-grandchildren, Alex, Braden, Lillie, Emrie, Emmitt, and Elliott; sister, Teresa (Joe) Kolibab; niece, Jennifer (Jason) Maulding along with many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Stephanie; son, Michael; sister, Barbara Koziel; and former wife, Toni Crivokapich.

Per Tony's wishes, no formal services will be held. Family will gather for a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
