Anthony R. Guerrero

June 15, 1985 — March 10, 2023

Anthony R. Guerrero, 37, peacefully passed away at home on Friday evening, March 10, 2023. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend.

Tony was born on June 15, 1985, in South Bend, Indiana to Maria Christina Guerrero. He attended Plymouth High School. He worked as a cook at Swan Lake Chophouse in Plymouth and as a farmhand for Caleb Coffel.

He was funny, very helpful with any task, and witty. He was a free spirit, full of life. Tony was full of one-liner jokes and had a contagious laugh. He was a hard worker, loyal, fun to be around, and never spoke badly of anyone. There was never a dull moment when Tony was around. He was proud of his friends and family for their accomplishments and always enjoyed being in their company.

Tony was a great Dad to his son, Isiah, and had the greatest relationship with his late sister, Nicole. Tony taught his son many handyman skills and taught him to be respectful and never talk badly about others. He loved watching wrestling with Isiah and cooking with him. Tony loved all animals but spoiled two dogs for sure, Ox and Sadie.

He is dearly missed by his mother, Christina of Plymouth; his son, Isiah of Plymouth; maternal grandfather, Manuel Guerrero; stepfather, Steven Thornton; aunt and uncles: Juan “Stevie” Guerrero, Norma (Shane) Eddington, Jose David Guerrero and Jose Elias Luba; cousins: Sammantha, Randa, Damian, Jazmyn, J.J., Eli and Gabriella. He also has his mom’s work/extended family: Danny (Jeanne) Tanner and their children, Maggie (Nick), Lauren (Elijah), Sam (Kelly), Claire (Seth) and Leah.

Tony is welcomed in heaven by his sister, Nicole E. Thornton, and his maternal grandmother, Maria Fernandez.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, north of Bourbon on 331, with Life Celebrant James Smart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions to be made in c/o Christina Guerrero to be put into the College 529 Plan that has been made for Isiah.
