Barbara Joan Danielson

October 15, 1936 — January 9, 2026

Plymouth

Barbara Joan Danielson, 89, peacefully passed and entered Paradise with her Savior on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Barb was born in Mishawaka, IN on October 15, 1936 to Ruby and Vernon Saltsgiver.

Barb grew up in Etna Green, IN and graduated from Etna Green High School in 1954. She still recalled her senior trip to New York City and Washington DC. After her youngest brother, Tom, graduated from high school, the family relocated to Plymouth.

On June 20, 1964, she married the love of her life Robert C. Danielson of Plymouth. They had three children, Tim, Scott and Stacy. Their hearts grew even more as they welcomed their grandchildren, Matthew, Anna, Ian, Mitchell, and Madison. Family was at the heart of what Barb loved most of all.

She worked for her father’s company, Ritz Craft which later became Wickes Homes in Argos for 20 years. Wickes closed the company and Barbara began accounting out of her home for three area companies.

Barb spent many years working in the food pantry of Plymouth Wesleyan Church with her good friend, Jody Motz. It was a mission that she enjoyed tremendously; not to mention all the fun times that she and Jody had running “craft” festivals. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and movie-watching.

She loved to follow the football and basketball seasons of Purdue University and was a season ticket holder for both sports for many years. All her children proudly graduated from Purdue University which made their father very happy – Boiler Up!

Bob and Barb were longstanding members of the Pretty Lake Golf Club and both enjoyed the game of golf which was made very easy for them since they lived on the “#1 fairway!” She served as a past President of the Country Club Board for two years during the remodeling in the early 2000s.

They enjoyed their many golf trips over the years to places like St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Turnberry, Gleneagles in Scotland, and many other golf resorts in the United States. They also loved their two trips to the “Masters” golf tournament. Bob and Barb also have countless memories of annual trips to Florida visiting their family and friends.

Barb is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob; son, Tim (Oksana) Danielson and their children, Matthew and Anna of Bluefield, VA; son, Scott (YunHan) Danielson and their son, Ian of Naperville, IL; and daughter, Stacy (Pat) Turley and their children, Mitchell (Shannon) and Madison of Cicero, IN; along with brother, Tom (JoAnn) Saltsgiver of Williamsport, PA.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Vernon and her brother, Richard (Marjean) Saltsgiver.
