Barbara Overmyer

June 28, 1931 - September 13, 2018

Barbara Ellen Overmyer, 87, of Apopka, Florida, formerly of La Porte, passed away peacefully, on Thursday morning, September 13, 2018, surrounded by family in the home of her daughter, Pamela Dennis.
She was born June 28, 1931, in Plymouth, to Louis and Iva (Bollman) Winter.
Barbara married the love of her life, Dale Overmyer, on September 17, 1950 in Plymouth and resided in La Porte until moving to Apopka in 1996.
Barbara retired in 1990 from Modine Manufacturing Company in La Porte after 20 years of service.
Surviving are her husband, Dale; children Mark Overmyer (Candy) of Longwood, FL and Pamela Dennis (Michael) of Deer Island, FL.
Barbara is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Jeffrey Mrozinski (Lauren) of McGuire AFB, New Jersey, Christopher (Ryoko) Overmyer of Winter Garden, FL, Brandon Overmyer of Santa Monica, CA, and Karly (Tim) Furtado of Longwood, FL. Also, great grandchildren; Josh and Catherine Mrozinski, Emma and Abby Furtado.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Frank Winter, Rosemary Taylor and Anna Kutella.
Barbara found great joy in spending time with family for celebrations and holidays. Her love of animals and nature was immense because of her gentle and caring heart.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in Plymouth with pastor Tammy Boggs officiating. Interment will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, 8985 State Road 17, Plymouth, IN 46563
