I remember fondly the fun we all had as kids growing up in the neighborhood; hide and seek games late into summer nights, camp-outs , snow forts etc. I am sure Barry is at peace now in his Heavenly home. May God bless your entire family and comfort you during this sad time.
Andrew McDaniel says
Barry was a kind man who always had a joke, always willing to help a friend in need, and had a special love for his family. I can remember countless times that he helped me with different projects around my home. He was a skilled carpenter and was always willing to give up a weekend just to help when we needed him.
He was a good man and he will be missed.

Scott and Lisa Harter says
Dear Annette, Mr. and Mrs. Jones and other family members,
Lisa and I extend our sincere sympathy to all of you on Barry’s passing. As you know, Barry and I have been lifelong friends. We were born on the very same day in the very same hospital. I joke that we both raised our heads in our hospital bassinettes and gave each other a “thumbs up”.
Barry introduced me to golf, ice-fishing and mushroom hunting. We were in the same kindergarten class in Roanoke (along with our shared birthday friend, Myrna Schoeff) and were reunited as classmates in junior high and high school. We played hours of tennis and basketball together and I respected his competitive spirit and good sportsmanship. Barry’s sense of humor was great and, frankly, I never saw him angry. Certainly, I respect him and admire him for not giving up as his health gradually declined.
Annette, your devotion to him in both sickness and health clearly exemplifies true love. I doubt many of us could have faced the challenges and hardships you experienced during these past few years. I know from conversations with Barry, he truly loved you as well.
Although we have to say goodbye for now, we all know through our faith in God that Barry remains with us always holding a dear place in our hearts and memories. I can hear his laugh now and just want him to know he will always have my “thumbs up”.
With love, Scott and Lisa Harter
