Betty dedicated her time to civic engagement and served in many capacities: as a founding board member of the Blueberry Festival; a boy scout leader, and a bluebird leader; a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a lector at mass; a Sunday school teacher; a member of the PEO; and a fifty-year member of the Tri-Kappa. Her town spirit showed at Plymouth High School sporting events of which she attended games well into her nineties. Betty was known as one the sweetest people that you would ever meet, and never let anyone go without a kiss on the cheek. Betty is survived by her children Jeffrey Matthew (Deborah) Rimel, Scott Allen (Susan) Rimel of Rowlett, Texas, and daughter Sue Ellen (Brian) Young of Barre, Massachusetts; sisters, Doris Denicola and Edwina (Harold) Cox; brother in-law Warden Rimel and sister in-law Joyce Metier.
