Betty Jean Sjoquist

Betty Jean Sjoquist, 85, was ushered into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, 25, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was born on September 1, 1940, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Charles E. (Thelma) Casey. She graduated from Argos High School with the class of 1958. On January 14, 1965, she married James K. Sjoquist.

She worked as a legal secretary for Bingman Law Office in Mishawaka. Betty was a stickler for detail in everything that she did, often believing in work before pleasure. She loved her cats, reading books on cooking, gardening, and home care.

She is survived by her daughter, Venus (Brice) Hensley of Argos; grandson Patrick (Sarah) Hensley and their children, Lyndy and Lane of Argos; and her granddaughter Violet Hensley of Argos.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her husband James.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 1:00-2:00 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Ron Hensley officiating.

Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
