Bonnie R. Veney

May 16, 1941 - October 29, 2022

Bonnie R. Veney, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on May 16, 1941 in Rochester, Indiana she was the daughter of Curtis Elburn and Mary (Vice) Balmer. While Bonnie was working as a waitress at Gardner’s Restaurant, she met the love of her life Gary over a tomato sandwich and on February 25, 1961 she married Gary Veney in LaPaz, IN.

Bonnie worked for United Technology and United Foam before her retirement. She was known as a stubborn, spunky and an adventurous woman. She wanted things to be done her way which was always extremely organized. In fact, her organizational skills were one to be admired by her family and that is something that they would all love to carry on.

She enjoyed gardening her flowers and absolutely loved to camp. Everywhere from Brown County State Parke to those special vacations to Mackinaw Island with her grandson Rory Lee. Bonnie loved to listen to books on tape and her nightly concerts of Neil Diamond.

She is survived by her husband Gary of LaPaz; daughter Jackie (Quinten) Bradley of Plymouth; son Steve (Deb) Veney of Plymouth; siblings: Kathy Nine of Plymouth; Cindy (Stacey) Drawdy of SC; Anna Cristianson of AZ; Curtis Elburn; Sandy Elburn of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren: Lee Reingardt, Delayna (Edgar) Mercado, Zane, Scott (Nancy), Garrett (Tiffany); great-granchildren: Danni, Deaglon, Payton, Reyna, Julian, Abigail, Violet, Colt, A.J., Grant and Gracelyn.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Balmer and granddaughter Lacey Reingardt.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to her caregivers: Goldie, Tia, Lynne, Deb, Janet and Heather.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A celebration of life will immediately follow with Life Celebrant James Smart.
