Carl Major

December 1, 1935 - February 28, 2023

Carl. Major, 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

Born on December 1, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois he was the son of Felix and Virginia (Kaminski) Majcherski. He attended Bowen High School graduating with the class of 1953.

He proudly served his country with the Navy from 1954 -1958. Carl was an electrical engineer working for Fluor Daniel in Chicago for most of his career. Known as a jokester that enjoyed being around people. Carl was an amazing father and family man to his children.

Carl enjoyed bowling, playing bocce ball, serving as a Boy Scout leader of Troop 374 in Dolton, Illinois and going on vacations with his family and friends. He will be missed by all that knew him well.

He is survived by his children: Kim (Craig) Van Vlack of Plymouth; Michael (Lat) Major of Thailand; Mark (Lisa) Major of Swanee, GA; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara and grandson Steven.

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 12:00 pm at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City.

Military honors will be rendered by the US Navy Honor Guard.
