Carol Ann Waugh

August 15, 1951 - May 30, 2023

Carol Ann Waugh, 71, of South Bend passed away on May 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Mishawaka. She was born to Paul Doll and Betty Tunis on August 15, 1951 in Winamac.

Carol married the love of her life, Frank Waugh, on September 28, 1993. They celebrated 24 years of marriage before Frank passed in 2017. She was a devoted caregiver for her husband and also worked as a housekeeper at the Warsaw Hospital.

She loved caring for others and especially taking care of children. Carol was involved in Big Brothers & Big Sisters in Plymouth, the Kid Safety Program and the Foster Care Program in Warsaw, and the Christian Children’s Fund in Indianapolis.

Carol is survived by her children: Tena (Todd) Hoffer of Etna Green, Cindy (Dennis) Baker of Pierceton, Steven (Bert) Babendrager of Rochester, and Travis (Jackie) Babendrager of Flint, MI; Grandchildren, Todd (Tressa) Smith, Preston (Ashley) Smith, Katie (David) Adams, Jessica (Gary) Niswonger, Jeremy (Kristina) Babendrager, Justin Babendrager, and Hunter Babendrager and 17 Great-Grandchildren; along with brother, James Doll of Bourbon.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Frank and parents, Paul and Betty. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Dave, and John Doll.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s Memory at the Animal Welfare League, 1048 325 E, Pierceton, IN 46562.

Per Carol’s wishes, no public services will be held. A private burial will take place at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos.
