Carole Ann Sarber

Carole A. Sarber, 80, of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Born on February 23, 1934 to Raymond and Mary E. (Yike) Krieg in Rochester, Indiana, Carole graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1952.

In Tyner, Indiana on April 19, 1956, Carole married Cyril E. Sarber.

Carole worked for Dave’s Super Market in Plymouth for 9 years and also as a bookkeeper for Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth for 19 years. She retired in 1997. Carole continued to be active with the Marshall County Museum in genealogy research with many hours as a volunteer.

She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports on T.V. and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She treasured times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their many activities. Carole was an active member of the Tyner Rebekah Lodge and enjoyed their many times getting together for luncheons and plays. She was also a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She had attended the Tyner United Methodist Church.

Carole is survived by her children: Julie Spitznagle of Plymouth, IN, Laurie (Steve) Weiand of Marysville, TN and Craig (Sandy) Sarber of Walkerton. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Her siblings are: Charlene (Fred) Jensen of Hamlet, IN, Charles (Gloria) Krieg of Bremen and Linda Hindman of Plymouth along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cy.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A Rebekah Memorial Rite will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 3rd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tamara Boggs officiating.

Burial will be in the Tyner Cemetery followed by a luncheon to celebrate Carole’s life at the Tyner I.O.O.F. Lodge.
