Carolyn Woolley, 80, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026 at the Center for Hospice Care Ernestine M. Raclin House in Mishawaka. The daughter of John P. and Lillian E. Nycz, Carolyn was born on April 4, 1946 in South Bend, IN. After her father's passing, she was lovingly raised by her stepfather, O.W. Ruffner.
A graduate of Argos High School, Carolyn began her career as a secretary at the State Exchange Bank and later served as a teller at Teachers Credit Union. She married Ronald E. Woolley on July 15, 1967, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Plymouth. Devoting her life to her family, she became a homemaker after the birth of her children, Gregory and Mark.
Carolyn was known for her dedication as a mother and treasured time with her family, creating memorable weekends at her mother's farm. Her baking, especially her renowned chocolate chip cookies and pies, was a heartfelt expression of her love.
She enjoyed simple pleasures, such as word searches and Scrabble, and valued her daily conversations with her sister. A longtime parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church, she was also involved with the Altar Rosary Society.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Gregory Woolley and Mark (Laura) Woolley; siblings, Mary Anne Brown and Joseph (Mary) Nycz; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; father, John Nycz; mother and step-father, Lillian and O.W. Ruffner; and her daughter, Amanda Woolley.
