Carter Peyton King

March 16, 2017 — December 10, 2023

Carter Peyton King, 6, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at home surrounded by his parents. Born on March 16, 2017 in Mishawaka, Indiana he was the son of Matthew and Joanna (Aschenbrenner) King.

Carter was the type of person who could put a smile on your face the second he entered a room. He was the light and joy everywhere he went, but was also a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. He was a Star Wars enthusiast who loved to draw all of his favorite characters, especially the walkers or his sidekick Chip the cat. He found love and positivity in everything, even his beloved tarantula. Carter had a passion for the darker characters like Wednesday Addams, Jafar from Aladdin, and any kind of creepy crawly, but he still had a heart of gold with the best of intentions and our others first.

Carter spent his free time either building airplanes and walkers with legos or drawing them in his sketchbooks.

He was given a terminal brain-cancer diagnosis but didn’t let that wipe the smile off of his face. He would even happily cheer on his way to get radiation or anesthesia. He fought with love and bravery til the very last second. All he wanted was for people to learn to find the love and beauty in everything and be courageous.

He is survived by his parents Matt (Joanna) King of Plymouth; brothers: Noah and Hayden King of Plymouth; grandparents: Brad (Robin) King of Plymouth; Brian (Cathy) Aschenbrenner of Mishawaka; great-grandparents LeRoy (Blanche) Aschenbrenner of Mishawaka.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11-1 pm at New Song Church, 1292 Baker St. Plymouth, IN 46563. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Justin Chambers officiating.
