Charles L. Gordon

Charles Lyle Gordon, 80, and 4th Road resident passed away on Sunday July 1, 2018 at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Plymouth. He was born in Plymouth, Indiana to Chester Lyle Gordon and Reathel (Fruits) Gordon on November 14, 1937.

He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 until 1965 serving in Okinawa, Japan. He was employed as a machine operator for 39 years at Young Door retiring in 2002. He also did volunteer maintenance work at Shiloh Wesleyan Church. He loved woodworking, and was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman who loved animals. He also was an avid mushroom hunter. He loved spending time with his family and caregiver, Susan Weaver. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion Post #27.

Survivors include his only niece, Susan Weaver of Plymouth, who was also his caregiver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn.

It was his wishes to be cremated. Memorial visitation for Charles will be held at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, on Friday July 6, 2018 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.

Memorial Services will then take place at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home with the Pastor Rich Van Vuren officiating. Inurnment will take place at the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth with Military Honors provided by members of the American Legion Post 27, Veterans of Foreign War- Marshall County Post 1162 and Disabled American Veteran Chapter 42.
