Cheryl Nielsen

August 17, 1955 - January 20, 2014

Cheryl Lynn Nielsen, 58, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in the South Bend Hospice House. Formerly of South Florida, “Sheree” and her family have resided for the past 22 years on Sycamore Street.
Sheree was born the daughter of Joseph V. and Beverly J. (Matice) Ostaski on August 17, 1955 in Pittsville, Mass. They survive and are now residing in South Florida. She attended Pittsville High School and graduated from American School in Chicago in 1976. Sheree went on to study Radio DJ at Brown Institute.
On September 3, 1977 in Tamarac, Florida she became the bride of Kevin A. Nielsen. Sheree loved her family and the times they had together. She truly enjoyed being a mom and was like a mom to everyone that got to know her, everyone felt comfortable calling her mom, she loved it, wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Sheree enjoyed being a homemaker; cooking, doing crafts, reading, writing poetry and short stories as well as working word puzzles. She is survived by her parents, her husband of 37 years and their four children: Melissa Mary Nielsen of Plymouth, Brittany Bree Nielsen and fiancé Chase Wright of Bourbon, Jeffery Joseph Nielsen and Katie K. Nielsen and fiancé Brendan Orr all of Plymouth. For now, Sheree settled for grandbabies; “Gidget” and “Gabby” her pet dogs.
Also surviving is her mother-in-law Eleanor Jund of Tamarac, FL, brother-in-law Hans Nielsen of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and sisters-in-law Phyliss Welcome of Tamarac and Marilyn Marshal of Tennessee along with many nephews and Robert Wager who was like a son to her of Plymouth.
Family and friends will come together to celebrate Sheree’s life on Thursday, January 23rd from 5 – 7 p.m. in the JOHNSON-DANIELSON Funeral Home 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Family services will take place with burial in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Marshall County Humane Society, P.O. Box 22, Plymouth, IN 46563.
