Christopher D. Frey

November 17, 1953 - March 20, 2005

Christopher D. “Chris” Frey, 51, 14450 Crest Lane, died in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, at 1:26 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2005, of a sudden heart attack.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 17, 1953, Chris was the son of Donald and Barbara Brinkerhoff Frey. He graduated from South Bend’s Adams High School with the class of 1972 and from Indiana University with a degree in English.
On August 1, 1976, in the Zion Lutheran Church in Bristol, Ind., Chris and Marsha Hisey were married.
He was the manager of the Plymouth G.L. Perry store from the time it opened until it closed in Plymouth. He then managed the Dollar General until taking a position with the Tim Martin Buick, GMC, Pontiac dealership in Plymouth.
Chris enjoyed water sports including scuba diving. He loved to fish, play golf, read, go to movies and was a Jimmy Buffet music fan.
Chris was dedicated to his and other children’s education. A member of the I.U. Alumni Association.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and past president of the local Red Cross chapter.
Chris is survived by his wife, Marsha and by their three children. Stacie, an I.U. graduate in Secondary Education and her husband Erik Klumpp, Rochester Hills MI.; Lauren Frey, Plymouth, a senior in Marketing at I.U.; and Adam, Plymouth, a junior at Purdue University in the professional flight school.
A brother and sister-in-law, Dr. James and Judy Frey, Fort Wayne and a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Chris Hancock, South Bend.
His mother-in-law, Maxine Hisey, Sebring, Fla., and several nieces and nephews survive as well.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2005, in the Zion Lutheran Church, 53176 County Road 19 Bristol, Ind. There will be an hour of visiting with the family prior to the services. The Rev. Paul Baglien, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate.
Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol, Ind.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Marshall County Red Cross or the Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol, Ind.
