Crystal E. Fishbaugh

May 11, 1920 - May 18, 2022

Crystal E. Fishbaugh, 102, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at We Belong Senior Home, Plymouth.

Born on May 11, 1920 in Keystone, IN she was the daughter of Edgar and Floe (Carnes) Lowry. She attended Chester High School in Keystone graduating with the class of 1938.

On August 30, 1941 she married Isaac Henry Fishbaugh in Keystone, he preceded her in death in 1981.

Crystal was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and children. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, often making her husband’s suits and her children’s clothing. Crystal was also an award-winning quilter, placing first at the Marshall County 4-H fair and making it to the State Fair.

She loved to garden, often tending to her flowers. Crystal also loved feeding the squirrels to the point where they would come right up to her and eat food out of her hand. Growing up through the depression she instilled for her children to be thankful and to take care of what they had.

Crystal attended the 1st United Methodist Church in Plymouth and to the former Parkview Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Connie (Thomas) Kleckner of Plymouth; D.J. (Karen) Fishbaugh of Plymouth; grandchildren: Todd (Tammy) Kleckner, Abby Kleckner Sharp, Adam (Allysen) Fishbaugh; great-grandchildren: Cayla (Justyn) Sharp Wade, Jacob Sharp, Brandon (Ashley) Kleckner, Zachery and Aaron Kleckner and Colton, Rhett Fishbaugh; sister, Irene Dawson of Bluffton, IN; sister-in-law Amy Fishbaugh of Findlay, OH.

She would have been a great-great grandmother this upcoming September.

Crystal is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister Helen Kunkel.

Per the wishes of the family there will be a Memorial Service held at a later date.

      My condolences to your family.
I never got to meet her, I found her obituary in the Bluffton News Banner. It caught my attention reading where and when she graduated. She graduated the same year as my grandpa Hillard Shadle, ironically her picture is to right of his in their yearbook. Her mother’s side of the family Carnes is also who Shadle’s are related to as well.
