As the eldest of Grandpa Peacock’s “grand” tribe, I offer this top 10 list of insights from his life’s journey:
10. There is a line between right and wrong, always chose what’s right.
9. Putting others before self is not just Christ-like, it’s an intentional lifestyle.
8. Never judge a person by their appearance, you’ll miss the best part.
7. Keep the body, mind, and spirit active daily.
6. Nuts are better than candy.
5. A patriarch always gets the first Christmas cookie, a gentleman gives his away.
4. Plowing fields is good training for many professions, including growing disciples.
3. Every person is worthy of unconditional love; unfortunately humans can’t offer that, but we can introduce others to the God who can.
2. Family is where it’s at. Yours may not be perfect, none are, but when you have family you have almost everything you really need.
1. We’re not here by chance. If we still have breath in our lungs God has a purpose for us, embrace it and you’ll be blessed.

I worked with Curtis for many years at Pilgrim Farms. He was a hard working man and made many friends there. I went to school and church with some of his children. He was a great Christian example to all who knew him, or may have only briefly met him. My life was made better by knowing him. He loved his wife Patricia, and all his family dearly. This world would be a better place, if there were more like him in it. praying for the Holy Spirt to comfort all his family and friends.

I remember Pastor Peacock & his wife when I first attended Plymouth Wesleyan Church many years ago. They were always kind, caring people. We enjoyed Pastor at our Sunday School class with his strong faith and always closed our session with a wonderful, meaning prayer. We will miss him tremendously. We are so sorry for your loss.
Rev. John Perkinson says
Always enjoyed my talks with Curtis. Although he was a generation older than me, we had some things in common. We grew up on a farm. Their farm joined our farm on the east in Scott County, Indiana. His family also attended the same church as my family. I remember some great revivals there. We had a rich heritage of holy living. We are also distant cousins. (My mother’s name was Peacock.) He and I were Wesleyan pastors. He was a great man of God who loved others. I am sure he will have a great reward in heaven. I look forward to seeing him again.
