Dale E. Holloway

February 15, 1921 — August 23, 2000

Dale E. Holloway, 79, State Rd. 25, Rochester, formerly of Bourbon, Ind., died in the Roudebush Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana, from complications of leukemia at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2000.

Dale was a 1939 graduate of Plymouth High School.  He was born on February 15, 1921, in Burket, Ind., the son of Charles and Zella Holloway.

He served in the United States Army during World War II from December 1942 to February 1946 and was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the V.F.W.

A carpenter, he worked as a contractor most of his life.

He loved animals, especially dogs.  He spent a lot of time attending auctions as he collected guns and antique tools.  A fisherman and a hunter, Dale was also an avid bowler.

Dale is survived by his three daughters: Vickie Holloway, Plymouth, Pam and Roger Denney, Argos and Darlene Riewoldt, Bourbon.  Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition, two brothers, Ronald and Helen Holloway, Plymouth, and Lowell and Ann Holloway, Mesa, Arizona, and a cousin, Frank Holloway, Plymouth, also survive together with several nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, James Matthew Riewoldt.

Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2000, in the JOHNSON-DANIELSON FUNERAL HOME, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Doug Jividen, pastor of the Plymouth Baptist Church, will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, 2000, at 2 p.m.

Military graveside services by the Plymouth V.F.W., #1162 will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
