Plymouth

Danny E. Ziegert, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Born on August 4, 1959 in South Bend, Danny was the son of Richard and Phyllis (Leary) Ziegert.

Family held a special place in Danny’s heart, especially his cherished daughter, Anna. He spent nearly two decades in Colorado working as a truck driver for Champion Window. In the early 1990s, he met Katie Williams, his life partner for over 32 years. Together, they would return to Indiana to be closer to his family.

Danny was a self-taught and intelligent man who learned many valuable life lessons from a young age. He enjoyed joking around and never knew a stranger. While he loved to talk to people, he was also a great listener. Danny instilled the importance of family in those he loved and always cherished their time spent together.

In his youth, Danny enjoyed playing touch football which inspired his lifelong love for the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. He also looked forward to bowling when time allowed. Danny was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Danny will be missed by his daughter, Anna (Eugene) Kuykendoll and their children, Landon, Lilly, Aaliyah, and Kendrick; his life partner, Katie Williams and her children, Wade Steiner, Sean Reagan, and Adam Reagan along with their children, Peyton, Larissa, Logan, Anabelle, and Leo. He is also survived by his brother, Steve and David Ziegert.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Ziegert; mother and step-father, Phyllis (Donald) Marsh; brothers, Richard, Mark, and Paul; and half-brothers, Michael and Pat Marsh.

Per Danny’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
