David B. Denney

David B. “Dutch” Denney, 67, 1427 Baywood Dr., New Haven, Ind., where had lived since 1974, moving there from Argos, died, following a seven year illness. Dave died in Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne at 3:58 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2002. Born at home in Argos , Ind. , on May 14, 1935 , Dave was the son of Robert Eugene and Flossie I. Yeazel Denney. He attended Argos High School . A private in the US Army from 1954-1956, he served in Germany. On September 23, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, Dutch and Elizabeth “Beth” A. Robinette were married. He worked for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as an engineer for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Dave loved fishing, hunting and playing golf. He enjoyed all sorts of wildlife, including birds, squirrels and especially his two cats, Barney and Shadow. He attended the Wesleyan Church on Moeller Rd., in New Haven. He was a member of the Argos American Legion Issac Walton Post and supported Disabled American Veterans. Dave is survived by his wife and two sons; Tim D. Denney, and Rod L. Denney, both of Monroeville, and grandchildren, Patia Denney of Monroeville and Caleb Denney of New Haven . Two brothers also survive: Gerald R. “Tony” (Susie) and Roger D. (Pam) Denney, all of Argos. A sister, also of Argos, Patsy L. Fretz, several nieces and nephews survive as well. Dave was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2002, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Richard J. Fletcher, senior pastor of the Moeller Road Wesleyan Church , Ft. Wayne , Ind. will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2002 , in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Memorial gifts in Dave’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Association
