David E. Robertson

David Eugene Robertson, 63 of Monterey, IN., passed away following complications of a heart condition at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, at 12:22 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013.
Dave was born in Dresden, TN., on January 27, 1950. He was the son of Eugene and Naomi P. (Dawson) Robertson.
He graduated from Chicago’s Weber High School with the class of 1968.
Dave was employed for 25 years with Torstenson Glass of Chicago, as a truck driver. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 710 Union. He was also very accomplished in the construction trades.
He loved working and could repair nearly anything.
A big but gentle man, he always put others above himself and continually had the back of his family and friends.
He was a 40 year member of the Community Full Gospel Church of Chicago and later in Plymouth where he served as Deacon and Treasurer.
Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy L. (Drake) Robertson whom he married on June 26, 2010 in Plymouth. His daughters are Lynn M. (Gordon) Wascher, Dyer, IN. and Lisa J. (Wil) Lawson, Enterprise, AL. His sons, both of Dyer, IN. are Paul D. and Tim D. Robertson.
Eight grandchildren and a sister, Patricia Heath of Lemont, IL., survive as well.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 North Michigan St., Plymouth, from 3 to 8 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
Funeral services in the funeral home will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 with calling resuming at 10 a.m. Pastor Jerry Gibson, of the Community Full Gospel Church, his longtime friend and father-in-law will officiate. Music will be provided by a cousin Robert Dilday.
Interment will be in the Culver Masonic Cemetery.
