Della J. Miller

December 17, 1932 - July 20, 2000
In Memorial

Former Plymouth resident, Della J. Miller, 67, 2601 Oakland Ave., apt. A-301, Elkhart, died of natural causes at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2000, in the Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home.

Della was born in Argos, Ind., on December 17, 1932.  She was the daughter of Cleo M. and Cordella M. Cannon Lacher.  She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1950.

On April 12, 1951, in Plymouth, she was married to Robert A. Miller.

Della was a waitress at the former Balloon Works Restaurant, Plymouth, for a total of 16 years.  She also worked in medical records at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, for 7 years, retiring in 1984.

She enjoyed reading, listening to music, her high school reunions and shopping at garage sales and auctions.

Della was a past president of the American Legion Post and a member of the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband and their children, two sons and a daughter.  They are Kurt and Debra Miller, of Elkhart,  and Brent and Faith Miller, LaPorte, and Lisa and Brian McKee, Plymouth.

Her sister and brother-in-law, Jo and Bud Ousnamer, Plymouth, survive as well, together with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Della was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 24, 2000, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. 

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Rustin D. Krapfl of the Sunrise Chapel, will be held in the funeral home on Monday evening at  6:00 p.m., following visitation.  The Women of the Moose, Chapter #1355 will conduct a special ceremony during the funeral.

Burial will be in Old Oakhill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in Della’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
