Delores C. Bailes

February 14, 1930 - August 15, 2005

Delores Catherine Sibert Bailes, 75, of 628 Ferndale Ave., Plymouth, formerly of Streator, Ill., died on Monday, August 15, 2005, at 12:50 a.m. in St. Mary’s Hospital, Streator, Ill.
Delores was born in Streator on February 14, 1930. She was the daughter of Henry A. and Rosa Mae Black Holt.
She attended Streator High School in Streator, Ill.
Delores was first married to Herman A. Sibert. Herman died on September 14, 1976. She later remarried. As a young adult, Delores worked for the Lipton Tea Co. in Streator, Ill. A nurse’s aid, she worked for Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth from 1964 to 1972. She then worked in the Housekeeping Dept. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator for 18 years, retiring in 1992.
As a pastime, Delores enjoyed crocheting and made many lovely things for her family and friends.
She was a former member of the Moose Lodge auxiliary in Streator and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, South Bend.
Delores is survived by two daughters and two sons and their families. Her daughters are: Rosa M. and Dennis Rhoads, Sr., and Beverly A. and Terry Kovacs, Sr. all of Plymouth. Her sons are Alec A. and Valarie Bailes, Wenona, Ill. and Michael A. Bailes, Tabger, New York.
Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. They are: Dennis and Brianne Rhoads, Jr., and their son Jalen; Andy and Cassandra Kovacs and their children, Damon and Kaylynn; and Terry Kocacs, Jr., all of Plymouth, and Justin, Cameron, Benjamin and Hannah Bailes, all of Wenona, Ill. Three sisters and one brother survive as well. Her sisters are Louise Hallam, Edith Norris and Mary Sliker, all of Streator, Ill. Her brother is Clifford E. Holt of Minonk, Ill.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters: Dixie Hallowell and Dorothy Shriver, and five brothers: Victor Holt, Ralph T. Holt, William Holt, Carl Holt and Verla R. Holt.
Friends will be welcomed by Delores’ family on Thursday, August 18, 2005, from 3 to 8 p.m.. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Visitation for those unable to come on Thursday will also be held after 7 a.m. on Friday morning, August 19, 2005.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005, in the funeral home. Elder Hans H. Hansen will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Delores memory may be made to American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.
