
Dolores Beam, 85, passed away at 10:49 a.m. on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at the Catherine Kasper Life Center in Donaldson.
Born in South Bend, Indiana on January 10, 1935, Dolores was the daughter of Gerald Mason and Sarah Margaret (Stover) Landis.
In Shiloh Wesleyan Church in Plymouth, Dolores married Fred J. Beam on March 27, 1955. To this union came three children: Michael, Philipe and Elizabeth.
After high school, Dolores began working for United Telephone Company until 1970, and then would work for Bendix in communications for 4 years until her retirement in 1974.
She was a member of Shiloh Wesleyan Church and Community Baptist Church. She did many years of volunteer work at Christian Women’s Club and did 12 years of women prison’s ministry. She was a member of the Gideon’s Women’s Auxiliary.
Above all, she loved being with her family. She treasured times with the grandchildren. And she really enjoyed trips into the mountains with Fred.
Dolores is survived by her children: Michael (Betty) Beam, Philipe (Vickie) Beam and Elizabeth “Beth” (Gary) Billings; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Gerald Mason Landis, Jr and Robert Landis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Command Sergeant Major Fred J. Beam, U.S. Army; her parents and her siblings, Jeanette Landis, Eldine Landis and George Landis.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m on Friday January 15, 2021 at Shiloh Wesleyan Church, 10532 4B Road, Plymouth, IN. Friends are welcome from 12 until the start of the services.
Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
