Donald E. Rininger

January 27, 1953 - August 31, 2023

Donald E. Rininger, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Center for Hospice Raclin House, Mishawaka surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on January 27, 1953 in Mishawaka, Indiana he was the son of Donald and Carol (Sample) Rininger. Donald worked as a machine operator and also volunteered for meals-on-wheels for Marshall Starke Development Center

Known as a happy go lucky man who loved everyone. Donald always knew how to put a smile on someone’s face no matter what was going on with his great sense of humor. He was also honest to a fault and would tell you like it is whether you wanted to hear it or not.

Donald enjoyed the outdoors from fishing, camping, sitting on his porch rocking back and forth playing his harmonica, and anything John Deere. Watching his beloved Chicago Cubs baseball team and a good Western were always at the top of his list. He enjoyed spending time with his brother Todd. Donald enjoyed bowling in the Special Olympics.

He is survived by his brothers: Lyle and Todd, several nieces and nephews as well as his Marshall Starke Development Center family.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark and sisters: Linda Seeders and Susan Irene

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth with Pastor Collin Seitz officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Marshall Starke Development Center, 1901 Pidco Dr. Plymouth, IN 46563.

I’ll always remember sitting with my cousins Gene, Todd, and Susie at our grandma and grandpa Rininger’s watching TV and passing the time on a Sunday afternoon. Good memories from my childhood.
