
Donald Lloyd Day, 90, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Center for Hospice Care, Raclin House.
Born on October 10, 1931 in Plymouth, Indiana he was the son of Lloyd and Opal (Hendricks) Day.
He attended West High School graduating with the class of 1950. Don served in the Army assigned to the 112th Infantry 28th Division during the Korean War and was deployed to Germany. When he returned home, he married Anita Marlene Fark on June 3, 1956. Together they adopted three children and remained in Plymouth working on the family farm. When he retired from farming, he found employment at Kroger, McCord, Pioneer, Mercury Stainless, Sundoor and Bomarko.
He enjoyed being active in his community. He served as the West Township Fair Board President, on the West Township 4-H council and on the Marshall County 4-H Council. He was a member of the West Township Advisory Board for 20 years.
He was fond of camping and was a member of the Pathfinders Campers since 1967.
Don’s faith was strong as he was an active member at Calvary Lutheran Church since 1956.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Marlene Day; three children: Christine Lemler; Michael (Lisa Sherwood) Day of Plymouth; Melanie (Todd) Espich; three granddaughters: Ashley Craig, Jennifer Lemler, Amanda Lemler; five grandsons: Harold Lemler II, Michael Day, Nathan Day, Jeremie Espich and Dylan Espich
Donald is preceded in death by his father Llyod Day, mother Opal Day, step-mother Pansy (Lowman, Davis) Day and step-brother Duane Davis.
Visitation will be held on Monday August, 29 from 10:30-11:00 am at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 N Michigan St. Plymouth, IN 46563. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Eric Ahlemeyer officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Plymouth Am. Legion Post #27.

Great memories of Don & Marlene when we were watching cross country meets!! Sylvia Bieghler & I still talk about how great Marlene was at keeping track of the score as the runners crossed the finish line. We always wanted to stand by you!!
