Donna B. Hartz

September 20, 1919 - August 27, 2001

Donna B. “Donnie” Hartz, 81, died of natural causes at her residence 18195 Hartz Lane, Tippecanoe, Ind., at 12:27 p.m. on Monday, August 27, 2001. Donnie had lived in Tippecanoe since 1970 coming from Osceola, Ind. She was born in Tippecanoe, the daughter of Floyd J. and Nina M. Tippit Creighbaum on September 20, 1919. She graduated from Tippecanoe High School. On July 7, 1945, in Ft. Wayne, Donnie and Ellsworth F. Hartz were married. Ellsworth died on October 9, 1994. Donnie retired from the South Bend Bendix Corp. in 1973, where she had worked in production. Summer was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed doing yard work and being outdoors. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Rochester, the Plymouth Chapter of the Women of the Moose # 1355 and the VFW Post 1162 Auxiliary in Plymouth. Donnie is survived by four stepsons. They are: Ellsworth E. Hartz, Jr., Robert L. Hartz, Dale L. Hartz and Richard D. Hartz. Several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren also survive. A sister, Margie and George Schlosser, Argos, two sisters-in-law, Juanita Creighbaum and Wilma Creighbaum, Bourbon, and a number of nieces and nephews survive as well. Donnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers: Dean W., Donald B. and Charles E. Creighbaum. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2001, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., following visitation, in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake United Methodist Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial gifts may be made to the Marshall County Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
