Donna L. Hite, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born on September 6, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana she was the daughter of Charles Decker and Delores (Pletcher) Grover. She attended Culver High School graduating with the class of 1968.
As she was driving along one day she noticed a gentleman with the same color of car, so they stopped each other, started talking and the rest was history. On August 14, 1971 she married Dwight in Donaldson, IN.
Donna worked for Catherine Kasper in housekeeping for numerous years, caring for others was a deep passion of hers. Known to her family as the matriarch of the family, she was the tremendous mother that made sure that all of the needs of the family were well taken care of.
She was known as a wonderful cook, and her children often talk about the fettuccini alfredo and the popcorn shrimp that would put a smile on their faces. She was famous to her grandchild for her tacos and popcorn. Often times you would find Donna in her garden tending to her flowers, especially her favorite hydrangeas.
She is survived by her husband Dwight of Culver; Nicole Hite of Culver; Travis (Juliana) Hite of Naples, FL; Cody (Jill) Hite of Bourbon; grandchildren: Morgan Hite of Mishawaka; Corbin Hite of Bourbon; Camila Garcia of Naples, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents as well as several aunts and uncles.
Per the wishes of the family a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

What a pretty picture you chose for Donna’s service and obituary. I remember all those years of seeing her at Grandma and Grandpa Pletcher’s house at Christmas. Donna was very special to my mom (her Aunt Barbara Varga) and was the flower girl at her and my dad’s wedding.
I am so sorry for your loss.
