Donna Arlene Mays

Donna Arlene Mays, 88, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. The daughter of Thomas and Myra Frances Lewis, Donna was born on October 12, 1937 in Batesville, IN.

It was love at first sight when Donna met Paul D. Mays. They were united in marriage six months later on July 16, 1955 in Brookville, IN. Donna was devoted to caring for her family, working tirelessly as a mother raising her children. She embodied what it meant to be a wonderful mother and she always treated others with kindness and respect.

Donna spent many years in Springfield, MO before relocating to Plymouth in 2023 to be closer to her children. While she lived in Springfield, Donna was a faithful member of the Park Crest Baptist Church.

In her quiet time, Donna enjoyed working a word search and putting together a puzzle. She also liked playing a game of solitaire.

Donna is survived by her husband of 70 years, Paul; children, Wayne Mays, Deborah Morton, Vickie (Henry) Bulmer, Sheila (Jay) Gray, and Jennifer (Roberto) Caban; along with 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Grimes and her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Myra; children, Carol and Dennis; grandson, Chad; and her son-in-law, Gary.

Per Donna’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
