Doris Arlene (Kauffman) Reese, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth. Born on August 22, 1937, in Goshen, Indiana, Doris lived a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to those she loved most.

Doris was the beloved wife of Allen E. Reese, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, partnership, and dedication both at home and in business. Together, they operated the Allen Reese Hearing Aid Center, where Doris worked faithfully alongside her husband and formed lasting relationships within the community.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Beth Noftsger (Rodney) of Plymouth, Indiana, and Christi Reese of Warsaw, Indiana. Doris also treasured her role as grandmother to Bryce Himes, Matthew Reese, and Jordan Hunsberger, and was blessed with five great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Nancy Moore, Wayne (Jill) Kauffman, Janet Zimmerman, and Robert (Mary) Kauffman.

Faith played an important role throughout Doris’s life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth and also attended The Church of the Brethren. She was active in several organizations over the years, including Jaycee Wives, Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Doris especially enjoyed following Notre Dame men’s and women’s basketball and rarely missed cheering on her favorite teams. More than anything, she will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother whose love and support were constant gifts to her family.

Her kindness, loyalty, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 11-1 pm at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Dennis Wenzel officiating.
