Dorothy A. Crawford

February 9, 1913 — March 21, 2001

Dorothy A. Crawford, 88,  died, following an extended illness, at 5:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at her Garden Court East residence in the care of her family and the Marshall County Hospice.  Dorothy has lived at Garden Court for the past 8 years and was a Plymouth resident for 15 years, coming from Danville, Illinois.

She was born on February 9, 1913, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Clara Fickenwirth Graham.  She graduated from Danville High School in 1931.

On April 21, 1932, in Danville, she married Levi F. Crawford.  Levi died on December 28, 1958.

Dorothy worked as a secretary for her husband’s Danville real estate business.

She enjoyed staying close to home.

She had been a member of the Central Christian Church of Danville since she was four years old.

Two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry G. and Mignon Crawford and L. Ferris and Mary Ann Crawford, all of Plymouth, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, survive her death.

A brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Helen Graham, Danville, Ill., and several nieces and nephews survive as well.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one great-granddaughter and two brothers: Herman and Lawrence Graham.

Funeral services will be at the Spring Hill Cemetery Chapel on Friday, 2 p.m. C.S.T. March 23, 2001, in Danville, Ill.  Pastor Phillip Hayes of the Central Christian Church, Danville, will officiate.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville, Illinois.

Memorial gifts in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Hospice.
