Dorothy Elaine Berrier, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on June 30, 2025 at the Center for Hospice Care Ernestine M. Raclin House in Mishawaka. The daughter of Delbert and Clara Baker, Dorothy was born in Plymouth on January 25, 1939.
Dorothy graduated from LaPaz High School in 1957. She married Gilbert E. Berrier on September 9, 1962 at Shiloh Wesleyan Church. They would build a beautiful life together raising their children, Nancy and Steven.
Working as a teller at the Farmer State Bank, she would ultimately retire from Lake City Bank in 2005. Dorothy always looked forward to traveling with her family and the precious memories that were made during their adventures. Dorothy and Gilbert enjoyed traveling to Florida, sailing on cruises, and exploring the United States with American Dream Tours.
Dorothy and Gilbert were faithful members of Shiloh Wesleyan Church for 63 years. In her free time, she worked with the ladies at the church in various missionary projects; whether it be making lap robes, dresses, or other crafts to help those in need. Dorothy also made the annual trip to South Dakota to help on the Indian Reservation through the church missionary trips which she participated in this for twelve years. Her soft spoken and sweet personality will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gilbert; children, Nancy (Wayne) LaFlash and Steven (Robin) Berrier; grandchildren, Tyler LaFlash and Nickolaus (Stephanie) LaFlash with one great grandchild on the way; step-grandchildren, Christopher Rex and Jennifer Boyd along with her six children; and siblings, Jeanette (Robert) Vermillion and Keith (Ines) Baker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Clara; and brother, Harold (Josephine) Baker.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 11AM-1PM at Shiloh Wesleyan Church, 10532 4B Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1PM with Pastor Ed Friberg officiating.
Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Plymouth.
