E. Ruth Flosenzier

E. Ruth Flosenzier, 89, died of natural causes in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007.

Ruth was born the daughter of Ivan and Daisy M. Stuber Read in Peru, Ind., on Aug. 17, 1918.

She was a 1936 graduate of Plymouth High School . She then attended Manchester College for two years, obtaining her teacher’s certificate.

On Dec. 31, 1939, in Plymouth, Ruth became the bride of Vernon L. Flosenzier. Vernon died on Sept. 4, 1995. They were married for 56 years.

Ruth taught art, home economics and music at Inwood and Green Township schools. She helped her husband on their farm, at the Plymouth Community Sale Barn and Flosenziers’ Farm and Home Supply store, retiring in 1984.

Very artistic, she enjoyed flowers, crafts and painting.

A member of Sunrise Chapel, Ruth was treasurer for many years and served on the missionary board.

She is survived by a son and two daughters. They are Dick and Barbara Flosenzier, Plymouth: C. Jean Church, Knoxville, Tenn., and Linda K. and Richard Hartle, also of Plymouth.

Ten grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren survive.

Three sisters and three brothers survive as well. They are: Treva (Wendell) Nelson and Wilma Ambler, all of Plymouth: Ellen (Bruce) Snyder, Toledo, Ohio: and Lester (Sue) Read, James (Barbara) Read and Jay Read, all of Plymouth.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant son, Robert Dean Flosenzier.

Ruth’s family invites her friends to come and celebrate her life and share memories with them on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Additional visitation will be after 7 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the funeral services.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in Sunrise Chapel, 11802 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, officiated by Pastor Rustin Krapfl.

Interment will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
