Edietha May Groves, 83, a former Plymouth, Indiana resident, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 in Laurel Ridge Healthcare, Clovis, New Mexico.
Edietha was born April 1, 1923 in Concordia, Kansas to Graydon and Mable Kinnon Norris.
On October 21, 1945, Edietha and M.H. McKinney, Jr. were married in Modesto, California. M.H. preceded her in death in January, 1973. She then married Robert E. Groves on June 15, 1974 in Plymouth, Indiana.
She was employed as an office manager in the manufacturing industry. An avid reader, she enjoyed reading the Bible and short stories; doing different kinds of crafts; cooking; and most of all, staying in touch with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edietha was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis, and was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Groves of Clovis, NM; two sons:Roger
N. and Judy McKinney of Argos, IN and Michael M. McKinney of Ft. Worth, Texas; a step-son: Robert and Sharon Groves, Jr. of Cinncinati, OH and a step-daughter: Janice and Randy Bazal of Boca Raton, FL.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters:Linda
and Darrel Burr of Modesto, CA and Naomi and Steve Sandoval of Oraville, CA and a brother-in-law: Frank Johnson of Modesto, CA.
Edietha was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; a sister, Ila Mae Johnson and a brother, Harvey Norris.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial gifts in Edietha’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 90790, Albuquerque, NM 87199-0790.
