Elsie E. Brodbelt, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in the loving care of her family. Born at home on November 15, 1938 in Beaver Dam Lake, she was the daughter of Robert G. And Lilly F. (Loher) Ault.

On December 15, 1956, Elsie married Glenn Brodbelt in Plymouth. They would raise 5 children: Sandra, Connie, David, Glenn, and Rex. Family was the heart of what mattered most to Elsie. She instilled the values of hard work in her family shown through the 41 years she dedicated to United Tech and Lear.

Elsie lovingly crafting her crocheted afghans and often gifted them to those she loved. She was incredibly smart and could do anything she set her mind to; especially when creating a new pattern to crochet. A perfect day for Elsie would include going fishing with her family while sipping on a cold Pepsi and munching on Lays Potato Chips.

Elsie is survived by her children, Connie (Kevin) Green, David Brodbelt (Jerry Walugamuth), and Glenn (Eliza) Brodbelt; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild along with one great-great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Ault, John Ault, and Mary Louise Shoemaker.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lilly; husband, Glenn; children, Sandra Lewis and Rex Brodbelt; grandchildren, Conway Brodbelt, Dustin Brodbelt, Kevin Gaines, and Jennifer Lewis; along with 6 siblings.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 11AM-1PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1PM with Pastor Taylor Hulse officiating.

Elsie will be laid to rest at Oakhill Cemetery in Plymouth.
