Erica Leigh Turner, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Born on May 22, 1986 at Parkview Hospital, Erica was the daughter of Terry and Tammy (Watkins) Borggren.

A 2004 graduate of Plymouth High School, Erica continued her education at Indiana University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in General Studies. Throughout her career, she worked in various roles within the manufacturing industry, including positions as a quality inspector and purchaser.

Erica had a gentle heart, a strong spirit, and a lifelong love for animals. While living in Cincinnati, she devoted countless hours volunteering at a no-kill animal shelter, where she especially enjoyed caring for the cats. At home, she had her own beloved kitty, Led, and the family dog, Zeppelin.

Music was another important part of Erica's life. She enjoyed attending concerts and seeing some of her favorite artists, including Umphrey's McGee, Tyler Childers, Morgan Wallen, and Morgan Wade. She also enjoyed playing in a sand volleyball league.

Erica had a particular love for the holidays, especially the joy of decorating. Each year, the decorations seemed to make their appearance a little earlier, as she eagerly welcomed the season and all that came with it. Her family also fondly remembers the NASCAR races they attended during her younger years. While the rest of the family enjoyed the excitement of the track, Erica was perfectly content reading a book or catching a nap in the stands at Bristol, unfazed by the roar of the engines around her.

Erica was known for her kind and gentle nature, but she also had a strong personality and wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in. She had a mind of her own, spoke honestly, and stayed true to herself.

Erica is survived by her loving parents, Terry and Tammy Borggren; her brother, Jeremy (Morgan) Borggren; and her niece and nephew, Ellie and Leo. She also leaves behind her beloved kitty, Led, and the family dog, Zeppelin.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenna and Raymond Borggren and Lewie and Pat Watkins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.

Erica will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth.
