Erin M. Ritchie

December 29, 1983 - September 9, 2021

Erin M. Ritchie, 37, passed away in her home on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

Born in Plymouth, Indiana on December 29, 1983, Erin was the daughter of Randall and Candy (Swope) Cramer. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 2002. She went on to attend some courses at Ancilla College in Donaldson.

In July of 2012 in Knox, Indiana, Erin married Gerald E. Ritchie. She enjoyed working at Sporteyz in Bass Lake as a waitress and bartender.

Erin was loving, stubborn, caring smart and strong. She had the biggest heart and was okay being very outspoken. She taught her children to “love yourself” and “never settle for less”.

She loved fishing and watching the Harry Potter series. Her greatest joy was being with her family and watching her grandson.

Erin is survived by her husband, Gerald, and children: Abigale Baker of Knox, Michael Baker of Knox and James Baughman of Walkerton; grandson, Jaxson Hoffer; her father, Randy of Plymouth; siblings: Valarie (Dustin) Whiteman of Plymouth, Matthew (Allison) Cramer of Round Rock, TX and Jordan Cramer of Plymouth; nieces: Alyssa, Kylie and Lauren Buzzard and Paige and Autumn Fields; maternal grandmother Beverly Brown of Sun City, AZ; and paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Margaret Cramer of Scottsdale, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Candy on April 27, 2020, and her maternal grandfather, Herbert Swope.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 11-1 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth.

My heart goes out to the entire family! I met her in 1990 and I have so many memories with Erin growing up, She was my childhood best friend. We did EVERYTHING together. We even started an all girls club. Many laughs together, cry’s together, parties, sleep overs, etc… A part of me is missing without her! Erin I hope your are enjoying the pearly gate with your mom. Till we met again my dear friend!

Erin, was one of the most strong, loving people that I’ve ever had the privilege to know. She had a heart of gold, sometimes too big. She always made sure everyone else was taken care of before ever taking care of herself. She was selfless, kind and beautiful inside and out. I don’t think she knew or could comprehend just how much she was loved. You’re a peace now beautiful. This world will not be the same without you in it. I’m gonna miss you so very much. Until we meet again, I will keep you in my heart and see you in my dreams. Prayers to her children, family and JJ. ❤️

Erin, honestly my heart hurts. You were truly amazing and the most outspokenly loyal person I’ve met to date. You never hesitated to help my dumb ass even if I was in the wrong. Even though you didn’t think so you will be loved and missed by many. There will be a emptiness in our hearts that no one will ever fill. Nothing but love. Prayers for your family and my brother jj.

I think of Erin often, she was one of those kids a teacher has that leaves a special place in your heart. We lost touch over the years, but I think of her often; especially every time I go by the Plum Street house. I always will remember Erin was in my classroom the morning of 9/11 and our small little class sat huddled together watching the tv and giving each other comfort. I loved Erin’s smile, her quick wit, her tough side and her loving side. Peace and prayers for all of her family and those that loved Erin; there are many of us.
