Esther Sue Bicknell

August 17, 1936 — January 22, 2009

Esther Sue (Leach) Bicknell, 72, was received into the arms of the Lord in the morning hours of Thursday, January 22, 2009. She passed away at her Lake Avenue home in the care of a loving family and friends.

Born on August 17, 1936 in Frankfort, Indiana, she was the daughter of James E. & Martha J. (Meeks) Leach. Raised there she graduated from Frankfort High School with the Class of 1953.

On March 1st, 1964 in Frankfort, she became the bride of Richard A. “Dick” Bicknell. Together they would raise four sons and moved to Plymouth in June of 1982.

Sister Bicknell was a dedicated member of the House of Prayer – United Pentecostal Church for many years where she served as a Sunday School teacher, the coordinator and director of the Baptistry and her special ministry was ‘Cradle World’ caring for the babe’s.

She was a peace keeper who always put herself last.

Devoted to her family and a wonderful homemaker, surviving along with her husband, are four sons and families. They are: Jeffrey L. (Donna) Leach of Frankfort, Richard A. Bicknell, Jr., Rob A. (Nikki) Bicknell and Daniel R. Bicknell all of Plymouth along with five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, she remained a very young age seventy-two.

Siblings include a sister; Dortha M. Arnold and brother; Willard R. (Louise) Leach all of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services for Sister Bicknell will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24th in the Plymouth House of Prayer located at 12450 Plymouth-Goshen Trail with Pastor R.D. Humphrey presiding. Friends and family will be welcomed at the church from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. where a reception will follow services.

Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
