Evelyn M. Rash Rash Fry

In Memorial

Evelyn M. Rash Fry, 89, a resident of the Bremen Health Care Center, since Nov., 2001, died, following an illness, at 9:24 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2002. Evelyn had lived in the LaPaz area most of her life, moving to Bremen four years ago and resided at 500 S. Montgomery St . Born in Lakeville, Ind., on Dec. 7, 1912, Evelyn was the daughter of Judd L. and Grace M. Vories Moore. She graduated from LaPaz High School with the class of 1931. In August, 1932, in Lakeville, Evelyn and William J. Rash were married. William died on Sept. 24, 1951 . In July of 1959, Evelyn and John P. Fry were married in Plymouth . John died in 1980. In the 1940s, during W.W. II, Evelyn was postmaster of Kingsford Heights , Walkerton and LaPaz. She worked a decade later at Bendix Corp., South Bend . A family person, she adored her children and grandchildren and enjoyed times spent with them. She collected antique glass ware as a hobby and enjoyed flowers. Evelyn was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lakeville Chapter No. 479. She had also been an active member of the Royal Neighbors and the Lakeview Homemakers Club. A daughter, Patricia A. and Edward A. Anderson, Bremen , a son W. David and Linda L. Rash, LaPaz, and a daughter-in-law Lois A. Rash, Plymouth , survive her. Seven beloved grandchildren also survive. They are: Greg, Curt and Bill Rash, Jon Anderson, Brenda Albrecht, Lisa Gay and Sherri Jaggers. Thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great children survive as well. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her two spouses, a son, Richard C. Rash, a sister, Dorothea Moore and two brothers, Robert and Donald Moore. A time of visiting and sharing memories of Evelyn’s life will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2002, in Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. The Lakeville Chapter of the Eastern Star, will provide a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. , Monday, in the funeral home. Funeral services for Evelyn will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg, of the Salem United Methodist Church , Bremen , where Evelyn was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Hospice, Bremen Community Hospital or the Cancer Association.
