Fern Alice Hill

January 14, 1930 - July 23, 2002

Fern Alice Hill, 72, a lifetime Marshall County resident, died at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2002. Fern, formerly of Academy Drive , Culver, died in Pilgrim Manor, 222 Parkview Drive , Plymouth , where she had been a resident. Born on Jan. 14, 1930 , in Tyner, Ind. , she was the daughter of Guy and Gertrude “Gertie” May Bradley Hill. She attended LaPaz schools, Grace Church, Culver and Christ Church , Plymouth . Flower gardening and quilting were a favorite past time. Fern is survived by two nieces, Evelyn & Curtis Kiel , Bremen , Dorothy Pope of Plymouth and a nephew Richard Early Jr. of Bremen . Several great and great great nieces and nephews and cousins also survive along with her Pathfinder Services family who helped her experience joy despite a lifetime of disabilities for over 14 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Guy Earl Hill and Harold H. Hill. A sister Violet Early and niece Judy A. Holdeman also have died. Visitation will be on Friday, July 26, 2002 , from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. , Plymouth . Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Larry Ferguson, pastor of Christ’s Church, Plymouth , will follow visitation in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Tyner Cemetery, Tyner, Ind. Memorial gifts may be made in Fern’s memory to the Marshall County Cancer Association, Hospice or Pathfinder Services.
