Frank Butler, 80, of Plymouth passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024 at the Center for Hospice Raclin House in Mishawaka. He was born on October 27, 1943 to Cecil and Irene (Kirkpatrick) Butler in Newberry, MI.
Honorably serving in the US Navy, Frank was stationed at the US Naval Station in Long Beach, CA until June 1962. He would return home to marry his sweetheart, Carol Cretons on October 12, 1963 in Beloit, WI. She preceded him in death in August of 1993. Frank remarried in 1994 to Phyllis Buchanan; she preceded him in death in 2021.
Frank worked as a Fleet Coordinator at CDI Services in South Bend. In his free time, he loved showing his antique tractors at various tractor shows and taking his grandchildren for rides around the farm. Throughout the years, he would pull the Girl Scouts Float in area parades and even took his tractor down to Ellettsville to pull the Girl Scout Float for his granddaughter.
He will be fondly remembered by his family as being a stubborn, red-headed Irishman that had a heart of gold. He truly loved helping others and would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it.
Frank will be missed by his children, Michelle (Carl) Haug and Tammy (Shawn) Houghton; step-son, James (Carrie) Buchanan; 19 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ben Butler.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Carol and Phyllis; parents, Cecil and Irene; and siblings, Calvin Butler, Bruce Butler, and Melva Fear.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 11-1PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1PM with Chaplain Arlin Cochran officiating.
