Frank Allen Rickman, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Pilgrim Manor in Plymouth. Frank was born to Frank Paul and Dorothy (Bradshaw) Rickman on August 20, 1941 in Valparaiso and was the oldest of nine children. He married Sirima Boonkaw in Bangkok, Thailand on April 7, 1970. He spent most of his childhood on a 400-acre farm near LaPorte. He graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1960. He enlisted in the Navy but was rejected because of a heart murmur. He attended the South Bend College of Commerce and received a diploma in Accounting and Business Administration in 1962. He passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Exam in 1981.

He became a cost clerk at a plant of Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation in 1963 at Hammond and was then promoted to the position of traveling auditor at the company headquarters in Pittsburg. In 1967, Frank went to Vietnam and Thailand to work for U.S. firms that had contracts with the US Army. He was a payroll supervision of a company that employed about 2,000 Koreans and 200 Americans. He worked for two companies as a traveling auditor.

In 1971, he established Rickman Well Company that drilled and services water wells. During tax season, he worked for a CPA firm in Plymouth. After going to work full-time at the CPA firm, he sold his well equipment. He established an accounting and tax firm in Argos.

In 1986, he was elected to the Argos Town Council and was twice elected as the Argos Clerk-Treasurer. While in public office, he was instrumental in establishing the 911 system for Marshall County and increasing the number of members on the Argos Town Council from three to five.

After selling this accounting firm in 2000, he became an owner/operator that transported expedited freight in cargo vans and straight trucks in 30 states until 2009. Until he retired in 2012, he was a driver and attendant for a company in Plymouth that transported people to their medical appointments.

In 1981, he was a co-founder of the North Central Soccer Association that involved Argos and those of five other communities. He coached his stepson in little league and soccer and his daughter in soccer and cross country.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, coaching, NASCAR, Notre Dame Football, Cubs and reading. Later in life, Frank picked up playing cornhole and shuffleboard.

He is survived by Sirima; stepson Charley Boonkaw of Portland, OR; daughter Peggy Rickman and husband Kane Shuppert of Plymouth; grandsons Kaneda and Quinn Shuppert; and three brothers and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his father (1994), mother (1997), brother Michael Rickman (1994), and sister Jeane Nugnis (2018).

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4-6PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6PM at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Trump officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date.
