Gail L. “Susie” Roahrig

December 8, 1938 - January 13, 2006

Gail L. “Susie” Roahrig, 67, of 11085 Hawthorne Rd., Plymouth, was a resident of Marshall County since coming from Lake County area of Lowell, Ind., in 1968.
Susie died of a sudden illness at 12:58 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2006, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
She was born in Gary, Ind., on December 8, 1938, the daughter of Albert and Norma Jean (McNorton) Roadruck. She graduated from Mt. Ayr High School in Newton County, Ind. and from Ivy Tech’s Computer Data Processing program.
In June of 1989, Susie and Stanley O. Roahrig were married at their Inwood home.
In Plymouth, she worked as a waitress in the Balloon Wurks of the Holiday Inn and also at the Hayloft, the American Legion and the Plymouth Country Club. For 12 years she worked for Pathfinders and later was a greeter at the Plymouth Wal Mart.
Susie’s grandchildren filled the number one spot in her heart and her life. She also enjoyed flower gardening and over the years had created a beautiful yard. She was an animal lover and was especially fond of cats and dogs.
She attended the Inwood Methodist Church.
Susie is survived by her husband of 16 years, Stan Roahrig and by her five sons, a daughter, a step-son and their families. They are: Bruce A. and Amy Knapp, Plymouth, and their children Emily, Joseph and Nathan.
Eric M. and Lori Knapp, Plymouth, and their children: Kaley, Austin and Alissa.
Brad L.and Lisa Knapp, Plymouth and their children: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jordan, Jared, Cody and Dillon.
Mark M. Knapp and Ella Knapp, Plant City, Florida and their children: Karly, Kayla and Zack.
Craig R. Knapp, Lake Village, Ind. Vanessa J. Knapp, Kissimmee, Florida.
Her step-son, Stan Jr. and Chris Roahrig and their son, Tyler, of Mishawaka.
Also surviving her death is her mother, Norma Jean Roadruck of Kissimmee, Fla., two brothers: Michael and Anne Roadruck, Union Mills, Ind., and Butch Roadruck, St. Cloud, Fla. and her mother-in-law: Betts Roahrig of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Rodney Roadruck.
Friends are invited to celebrate Susie’s life on Monday, January 16, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, and after 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2006. Funeral services for Susie will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2006. The Rev. Gail Law, pastor of the Inwood Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, Ind.
Gifts in Susie’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society, P.O. Box 22, Plymouth, Indiana 46563 or to the American Diabetes Association, Marshall County Chapter, c/o 10872 Queen Road, Plymouth, Indiana 46563.
