Gerald Scott Couse, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Elkhart General Hospital. The son of Gerald C. and Betty L. (Cox) Couse, Scott was born at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth on July 17, 1962.

Attending St. Michael Catholic Church as a child, Scott went to St. Michael Catholic School through 8th grade, also serving as an altar server. He proudly graduated from Plymouth High School in the Class of 1980 and went on to attend college at Ball State University.

Scott married Barbara Roth in August of 1994 at Dallas Lake. Through the years, he held a successful career as a salesman working in various sectors of the mobile home industry. Family at the center of what Scott loved the most. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed taking them fishing on Heaton Lake. He was also passionate about hunting, Notre Dame Football, and tending to his vegetable garden. On a warm summer evening, Scott could be found grilling a delicious meal for those he loved.

Leaving behind a legacy of love, Scott will be remembered for his adventurous and fun-loving spirit.

Scott is survived by his father, Gerald; wife, Barbara; step-daughter, Amber Soliz; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Taylor, Timmy, and Avery; sister, Karen Humphrey; and close friends, Jazmine Good and Todd Day.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty; sister, Linda Vinall; and step-son, Danny Soliz.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 10-11AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 612 N. Walnut Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 11AM with Fr. Jose Arroyo officiating.

Scott will be laid to rest at St. Michael Cemetery in Plymouth.
